Onam is more than just a festival; it’s a celebration of Kerala’s rich culture, heritage, and the bountiful harvest. This 10-day festival marks the homecoming of the legendary King Mahabali, who is believed to visit his people during this time, bringing with him prosperity and joy.
Our celebrations will feature the traditional essence of Onam with beautiful Pookalam, traditional attire, a sumptuous Sadya, and energetic cultural performances that reflect the true spirit of Kerala.
Traditions and Customs:
– Decorating homes with intricate flower arrangements (Pookalam)
– Wearing traditional clothing (Mundu and Saree)
– Preparing traditional dishes (Sadya)
– Participating in traditional dances (Tiger Dance and Kummati)
